New mechanical Roamer watches: Primeline DayDate II

Primeline DayDate II

Similar to the previously described innovations, the Primeline DayDate II also consists of six models in different color variations.

Two steel versions are equipped with a blue dial – Ref. 981666 41 45 50 and black – 981666 41 85 50. The offer also includes two two-tone models with gold bezel and bracelet core, with blue dial – 981666 47 45 50 and white dial – 981666 47 25 50.

The remaining two variants are fully covered with gold plating in two variants: yellow – 981666 48 75 50 and pink – 981666 46 75 50.

Both versions are combined with a green dial.

In my opinion, the dials of the Primeline DayDate II watches are “perfected” down to the last detail, achieving perfectly balanced proportions and legibility.

The minute and hour hands are generously covered with a glow-in-the-dark material, which ensures that the watch can be easily read even in the dark. The same substance was used to fill the hour indices assigned to each hour, with the exception of the 12 o'clock position, where the marker has been replaced by a date window.

Unusual dial structure

The new Primeline DayDate II collection features a very interesting dial structure. It has a pattern in the form of horizontal, convex lines. This treatment gave the dials depth and at the same time did not affect the readability in any way.

An exception is the version with a green dial and rose gold-plated case and bracelet. In this case, a smooth sunray dial was used.

A characteristic element that distinguishes the Primeline DayDate II line is an extended date display that shows the day of the week in a large window at 12 o'clock. The day of the month is visible in the classic window at 3 o'clock, magnified by a magnifying glass glued to the glass panel.

Another distinguishing feature of the Roamer Primeline DayDate II watches is the bezel, which surrounds the dial with characteristic, strong teeth and gives the watches elegance. Thanks to the universal case diameter of 42 mm, the watches should fit perfectly on almost every man's wrist.

The Primeline DayDate II collection is equipped with the Swiss Sellita caliber SW240-1 self-winding movement. Its specification is very similar to the movement used in the Searock II collection. It has an identical power reserve of 38 hours, an operating frequency of 28,800 balance vibrations per hour and the same number of jewels (26). The SW240-1 caliber mechanism also has an extensive date display system that displays the day of the week in addition to displaying the day of the month.

The watches are fitted with sapphire glass, the hardness of which makes them scratch-resistant. Glass is also used in the screwed lid, which allows the mechanism to be observed in action.

All watches in the Primeline DayDate II collection have a water resistance rating of 50 metres, which allows complete submersion under water, provided that this does not cause pressure to be exerted on the case.

The new range of timepieces from the already well-known Roamer collections expands the Swiss brand's extensive product portfolio. This means that everyone, even the most demanding watch fan, will most likely find something for themselves.
