Orient watch RA-AC0L06B00B

The Japanese watch manufacturer Orient Watches has been offering high-quality watches at moderate prices since 1951. The main focus is on mechanical watches with in-house calibers. The selection ranges from classic dress watches to diving watches.

The company was renamed Orient Watch Co. Ltd. in 1951, when the first watch from the newly founded manufacturer - the Orient Star - was launched. The company name is a reference to the company's Japanese origins: Orient comes from the Latin Sol Oriens, which means east, orient or rising sun.

Until the 1970s, Orient was the third largest watch manufacturer in Japan behind Seiko and Citizen. However, with the advent of quartz technology, the company lost its place at the top to the electronics giant Casio. Despite all the difficulties, Orient always stuck to the production of mechanical watches. To this day, they make up the majority of the manufacturer's product range.

In 2001, Seiko Epson became a major shareholder in Orient and took over the company completely eight years later. Orient now has the status of an independent but wholly owned subsidiary of Seiko Epson Corporation.
